Thanks for another fascinating post. One t...Mike,

Thanks for another fascinating post. One theory I'll posit for "I Learned What It Meant To Be Jilted!" is that Stan Lee was always making changes to the look of females, which continued into the Marvel Age era, ie John Romita redrawing Kirby females, Ditko's touched up Liz on the splash of Amazing Fantasy # 15, etc. It is possible that Lee had someone touch-up the hairstyles of the man and woman throughout. One reason this came to mind is that the blond haired woman looks "all Everett" to my eye, so this may be Everett pencils and inks, with alterations.

"Loveless Marriage" is a great discovery, clearly the work of Werner Roth as seen in the faces and figures. "Come Back" does have a Kamen-ish look and I'd say its a distinct possibility. Co-founder of the New York Review of Books, well known critic, married to poet Robert Lowell. Graduated college in 1939, dropped out of graduate school (in NYC) in 1941. Had her first novel published in 1945, she had to be doing something in the early 1940s. I certainly can't say it is her, but ....
Steven RoweSangorShophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17650888644317638942noreply@blogger.com
